IP protection for pet products
We assist entrepreneurs, universities and corporations with patent protection for their new chemical pet-related, agricultural or veterinary products. We guide clients through the requirements for trademark protection for their brands and packaging. Our in-depth understanding of the chemical and biochemical sciences behind veterinary medicines; food, vaccines, feed supplements and treats for animals and livestock enables us to efficiently grasp your complex invention and capture it in a patent application.
As a horse owner and avid equestrian, attorney Elaine Ramesh, Partner, is also a passionate advocate for animal owners; particularly horse owners. She is dedicated to the advancement of the equestrian way of life and has participated in regional, county and local comprehensive planning processes as an adviser to ensure that land use options that allow horse keeping are not overlooked. On a pro bono basis, she has drafted four bills which became Illinois state laws; and successfully advocated for passage of her bills as well as several other new Illinois pro-equine owner laws. And she led a local award winning public-private partnership effort to raise funds for a horse trailer parking lot to support additional public bridle trails in her area. She wrote successful grant applications to help fund the project.
Elaine's recent speaking engagements include talks for the Chicago Bar Association's Animal Law Committee and to the American Bar Association's Equine Law Sub-Committee.
